Learning to write our names

In Room 20 we have been learning to write our names correctly.  We have been learning to start writing at the top, not the bottom of a letter.

FiaFia Day

It was a bit wet on Friday but we still went on with the show.

We showed our family and friends what we've been learning, we made Christmas cards, we did some literacy activities with them and we performed our Pohutukawa song too.

Monster Week

Last week was all about monsters.  We created monsters out of play dough, shapes, paper, and we even took a line for a walk, in Creative Design, to draw a monster.  We read monster stories, wrote about monsters and we played Monster Guess Who.  If you come into our room you will see lots of monsters.

Have You Filled A Bucket Lately?

In Room 20 we working on being bucket fillers instead of bucket dippers.

In Room 20, we fill our bucket by being a good friend, working hard, following the rules, helping others and trying our best.  When our bucket is full we get a reward.  So far we have played with oobleck, had brain food and a story in the forest and got a class shop.

Our next reward is to sneak out to play early.  Ssh, don't tell anyone.

We had a very busy week in Room 20.

What is Oobleck?

For science we are learning about solids, liquids and gases and how they can change.  We will be going to all of the Puriri classrooms to do different experiments. Today in Room 20 we made oobleck.

Week 1 at school!

We had a very busy first week at school.  As well as learning class routines and exploring our classroom and school, we had a trip to the zoo on Thursday and soccer lessons in an inflatable field on Friday.
