I wonder...

We have been talking about and drawing things that grow and things that change for our concept 'Growth is change'. Here are some of the things Room 4 is wondering about.

What grows out of seeds?

Today Nikki had some mystery seeds.  We had to guess what we thought they would grow in to.  There were big seeds and little seeds.  We put some in a container with wet paper towel and we planted some in dirt.

Music

Today during music with Ros we learned to follow a beat.  We got to use lots of different instruments.

Our First Day At School

We had a very busy first day at school.  We explored, coloured, painted, puzzled, drew, sorted, built, dressed up, sang, read and played.

MOTAT

We went to MOTAT (Museum of Transport and Technology) and learned about lots of interesting machines.

Machines

This term we learned about small machines like inclined planes and wheels and axles. We all designed our own machine that had wheels and axles, then we made them out of cardboard boxes, milk bottle tops, straws and toothpicks.

Bubbles

We read a bubbles poem and a big book about bubbles.  So we decided that we just had to blow some bubbles.  Our friends from Room 7 came and joined us.
