Handwriting

Today we were working on writing a small 'a' correctly - open mouth, close it, short stick.  Get your child to show you.

Once we could write a beautiful 'a', we drew pictures.

Statistics

We are learning about different ways to display information.  Here is our picture graph that shows how many people are in our families.

No one has seven people in their family.

Our seeds have started to grow and we've had another think about what they will grow into.  We also watched a video of chickens hatching out of eggs, not seeds.

Room 4 has been writing about popcorn. That means we had the tough job of making and eating it first, so we knew what to write. We'll share our writing next week but first here's what we did this week.

What grows out of seeds?

Today Nikki had some mystery seeds.  We had to guess what we thought they would grow in to.  There were big seeds and little seeds.  We put some in a container with wet paper towel and we planted some in dirt.

Today during music with Ros we learned to follow a beat.  We got to use lots of different instruments.
